With millions of social media followers, Toddy Smith has come a long way since placing third in Season 4 of CMT’s dating series, Sweet Home Alabama.

As a model, actor, prankster, and vlogger, Smith became a huge hit on Vine, and now has more than five million followers across platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. Recently, the Huntington Beach native, who has collaborated with brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, has been focusing more on his fitness content, and here shares one of his staple workouts.

Unlike many social media fitness influencers however, Smith works just as hard behind the camera as he does in front of it, choosing to get his sweat on via demanding SAQ (speed, agility, and quickness) drill workouts.

“A part of me is outgoing and confident, but another part of me is insecure and unsure,” Smith tells M&F. “Social media really brings out both sides. It takes confidence to put yourself out there, whether it’s posting a short story on

Instagram, releasing a song, or just admitting to yourself that you have a goal and are working toward it. But when that story bombs, or a song doesn’t resonate, and that goal slips out of reach, it’s tough not to feel insecure.” Fortunately, this model, singer, and filmmaker has built his up his confidence levels through working out. “I’m able to see how much value it adds to my everyday life,” he says. “It puts me in a state of flow—like meditation—but sweatier! It keeps me mentally and physically sharp and it’s just like this awesome cheat code for life!”

Sharing his “cheat code,” Smith regularly posts fitness content on his social media platforms. He takes his own health and fitness seriously but loves to travel and doesn’t abstain from indulging in hard-earned treats here and there. Because of his balanced approach, Smith is relatable because he makes his videos fun and stays clear of ‘preaching’ to the masses. He’s a fan of hiking and hot yoga, but when it comes time for a quick and intense blast; Smith chooses Speed, quickness, and agility drills to lead the way.

But if you don’t have those, set the boundaries with your imagination! While this influencer loves to connect with people on his various platforms, Smith also loves to make his offline workouts a social affair, meeting up with friends to motivate and push each other through this gruelling circuit.

Here, you will be sharpening mind as well as body with different combinations of moves either through the ladder, around a box, or via random football routes. “I need to challenge myself,” says Smith. ”I need to be huffing and puffing!”

To finish up the workout, Smith and his friends take it in turns to call random football routes to each other, forcing them to change direction, alter the tempo, and work on their flexibility to complete each route. He tells M&F that he’s always looking for new ways to make his workouts fun, and loves to run against the resistance of a parachute, or walk through the sand on his hands. One thing is for sure, you’ll never be bored working out with Toddy Smith. “I want to be healthy, feel good, and ideally not look worse and worse with every birthday,” he says. “It’s my rebellion against biology!”
